The Florida Diagnostic & Learning Resources System (FDLRS) provides support services to educators and families of students with exceptionalities. FDLRS also screen preschool age children (ages 3–5) who may have special needs. Provides comprehensive, developmental services for low-income pre school children ages three to five and social services for their families. The purpose of the Head Start program is to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of health, educational, nutritional, social and other services. The Children’s Services Council is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in St. Lucie County.
